PENN RUN — The Friday Night Light activities at Penn Run Christian Outreach Center will be suspended until further notice.
Back to church Sunday
National Back to Church Sunday will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday at Harvest Community Church, 637 Philadelphia St., Fourth Floor, Indiana. There will be a casual atmosphere, real people and children’s programs.
Roast beef and holupki dinner
A roast beef and holupki dinner will be held from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Christ Our Savior Orthodox Church, corner of Tanoma Road and Route 286 East, Rayne Township.
The cost is $10 for adults, $3 for children ages 5 to 12 and free for ages 4 and under. A fast takeout line is available. The public is welcome.
Revival services will be held at 10:40 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday and 7 p.m. Monday through Wednesday at the Independent Traditional Holiness Church, 5065 Ferguson Road, Indiana.
The Rev. Duane Smith will lead the music and preach in each service. The Rev. Smith and his wife, Ruth, of Lakeland, Fla., have traveled in evangelistic ministry for many years.

PENN RUN — Family Night Kick-off will be held Wednesday at the Penn Run Christian Outreach Center, 75 Grace Church Road, Penn Run. A family-style dinner (donation only) will begin at 6 p.m. along with children’s registration.
Faith Weaver Friends for children will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. for ages 3 to grade 6. Youth Bible Study will be from 7 to 8 p.m. for grade 7 and up. Adult Bible Study will be from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Penn Run Church of the Brethren with Pastor Tom Pugh teaching.

HOMER CITY — The Indiana Area Celebrate Recovery Leadership Team will present a documentary, “An Appalachian Dawn,” at 7 p.m. Thursday at Homer City United Methodist Church.
The documentary explains how local churches and residents in Manchester, Ky., united through prayer and a common goal to fight back against drugs and corruption.
Christian Counseling Service of Indiana will hold volunteer counselor training classes from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays, from Sept. 21 through Nov. 2 (no class on Oct. 5, IUP's Homecoming), at the Counseling Center, 637 Philadelphia St., Indiana. Fun in the fall
The second annual Fun in the Fall celebration will be held from 1 to 7 p.m. Sept. 21 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 398 Church St., Indiana. An ice cream social will begin at 6 p.m.
The event is hosted by Trinity United Methodist Church and Victory Christian Assembly and will be held rain or shine. Admission and food are free. There will be games, prizes, music and more. Everyone is welcome.

SPRING CHURCH — Spring Church Lutheran Church will hold a chicken and biscuit dinner from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Sept. 28 at the church, Route 56, four miles east of Apollo.
The menu will include chicken, biscuits, mashed potatoes, green beans, cole slaw, dessert and beverage. There is a donation of $8 for adults, $4 for children ages 6 to 12 and free for ages younger than 5. Takeouts are available for an additional 50 cents.

Pipe organ concert
The First Baptist Church of Glen Campbell will host a major pipe organ concert at 4 p.m. Oct. 20. The concert will feature Dr. Ann Labounsky, an internationally known organist who has recorded many CDs and was a major organist in Paris.
This concert is supported by the Organ Scholarship Fund at Indiana University of Pennsylvania and will be followed by a reception for all. The concert is free, with a free-will offering to cover expenses and support fine music in our region and in our churches.
