Cruising into their home opener following a big win at Springdale, the West Shamokin Wolves kept the momentum going.
Andrew Wingard rushed for 138 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries to lead West Shamokin to a 46-20 win over Northgate in a WPIAL Eastern Conference football game Friday night.
West Shamokin jumped out to a 20-0 lead in the first quarter and led 34-6 at halftime.
With the win, West Shamokin started 2-0 for the first time since Shannock Valley and Dayton merged to form the school in 2000. The Wolves, who snapped a WPIAL-record 46-game losing streak last season, have won three straight games dating to the season finale of last year.
