Fresh off his induction into the College Football Hall of Fame last month, former IUP head coach Frank Cignetti was also inducted into the Division II Football Hall of Fame, IUP announced last week.

Cignetti, who racked up 182 wins at IUP during his 20-year coaching tenure (1986-2005), is one of three inductees in this year’s Division II Hall of Fame class, along with former Valdosta State quarterback Dusty Bonner and Jacksonville State tight end Keith McKeller. The induction will be held on Dec. 20, at the 28th annual Harlon Hill Trophy and Division II Hall of Fame banquet in Florence, Ala.

The winningest coach in IUP history, Cignetti led IUP to the Division II playoffs in 13 of his 20 seasons, including twice to the national championship game (1990 and 1993).

Cignetti played at IUP from 1956-59 and was an NAIA All-America selection. He was a member of the inaugural class inducted into the IUP Athletic Hall of Fame in 1996.
