APOLLO (AP) — The Pennsylvania Game Commission said coyotes killed two baby alpacas on a western Pennsylvania farm, and are responsible for killing six peacocks at another nearby farm.
The alpacas were killed at the Humming Valley Alpaca Farm in Washington Township, Westmoreland County. The peacocks died at another nearby farm and now neighbors say they’re worried about their animals, too.
Gary Wehrle owns a nearby farm and his son, Garrison, 10, have raised several goats and lambs. Wehrle told KDKA-TV the coyotes are “attacking pretty much anything they can get their hands on. So just beware.”
The alpacas killed were worth $20,000 each, and were among nearly 30 living on the farm.
