LARRY STADTMILLER: Roundabout plan should be scrapped
September 11, 2013 10:50 AM

I would like to know just how best to attempt to stop the wasteful spending of taxpayer funds on the East Pike roundabout idea.

The engineering staff at PennDot is being less than diligent in the use of monies by initiating work to design such a meaningless and unnecessary change. That intersection has a proven record of few accidents and smooth traffic flow since the restructuring years ago.

I think as taxpayers we should demand that plans for this project be dropped immediately and the funds designated be used for the many needed corrections to areas (like bridge repair) that have a negative economic impact on commerce in our area.

Additionally, I would request that supervisory personnel at PennDOT refrain from approving such frivolous projects.
