DuBOIS — DuBois jumped out to a 14-0 lead, and its defense led a second-quarter charge in a 49-7 victory over Punxsutawney.
After taking a two-touchdown lead, DuBois made a goal-line stand at the 1-yard line and then proceeded to march 99 yards for a score to make it 21-0.
Punxsutawney fumbled on the next play, and DuBois converted it into another touchdown, and the Beaver then scored again to make the score 35-0. An interception on the Chucks’ final drive of the half kept the score at 35-0, putting the mercy rule into effect for the second half.
DuBois (2-1) extended the lead to 49-0 before Perry Arrington scored Punxsutawney’s lone touchdown on a 12-yard run late in the game.
Punxsutawney (1-2) plays at Allegheny-Clarion Valley on Friday.
