LATROBE (AP) — The girlfriend of Scott Murphy, who was killed after a July standoff with police, is heading to trial on charges she provided him with stolen guns.
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported Monday that prosecutors said 25-year-old Julian Upholster, of Latrobe, allegedly stole guns from her roommate and gave them to Murphy, who kept tactical officers at bay nearly 17 hours before he opened fire, injuring one trooper.
Upholster’s attorney Michael D. Ferguson said she didn’t know why Murphy wanted the guns.
Murphy held up a Latrobe pharmacy one day after Upholster allegedly gave him the guns.
Trooper Brian King is recovering from an eye injury he suffered after he was shot during the standoff.
