Indiana Borough public works employees will soon start their autumn collections of fallen limbs and leaves.
Dave Fairman, Indiana’s public works director, said limb collections will be Oct. 8 in the First Ward; Oct. 9 in the Fourth Ward; Oct. 10 in the Second Ward; and Oct. 11 in the Third Ward. Limbs, up to 6 inches in diameter, should be placed between the street curbs and sidewalks. The limbs will be fed into a chipper and then taken to the Indiana County Recycling Center to be used as mulch.
Indiana’s leaf vacuum will be roving through the borough starting Oct. 15. Leaves also should be piled between the curbs and sidewalks.
The leaf pickup will conclude the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, Fairman said.
