DAYTON — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is seeking volunteers to participate in this year’s National Public Lands Day on Saturday at Mahoning Creek Lake.
The goal for this year’s event is to help build and place catfish habitat spawning boxes and standing tree stakes in the lake. If time permits, some shoreline cleanup will be done as well.
Work will begin at 10 a.m. at the Milton Loop Campground pavilion on Route 839, two miles north of Dayton.
Contact the park office at (814) 257-8811 or email Grover.M.Pegg@usace. army.mil for more information.
