On Sept. 8, the Indiana Optimist Club selected Keldon Spicher as the Boy of the Month for September, the 669th since the program began. Keldon, 18, is the son of Dorse and Sue Spicher, of Indiana, and the brother of Kylee Spicher. He is a member of the St. Bernard’s Catholic Church.
Keldon is a senior at Indiana Area Senior High School, where he is a member of the Key Club, Future Business Leaders of America and their executive board, and the football team. He also was a member of the IHS soccer and lacrosse teams, and will be trying out for the hockey team.
In 2010, he received the “Spirit of the Game” award for lacrosse and in 2012 was named to the WPIAL all-section team.
In his spare time, Keldon does summer lawn care and enjoys hunting, archery, boating and golf. He enjoys watching ESPN, “NCIS” and “Family Guy.” He likes to read crime stories, and his favorite subject in school is mathematics.
Keldon plans on attending a four-year college and majoring in finance or business.
