JUNIOR HIGH TRACK: Todd paces IJHS runners

PITTSBURGH — Indiana’s Maddie Todd placed 35th out of 248 runners in the seventh-grade girls’ race in the Fox Chapel Invitational at Hartwood Acres on Friday.

Todd posted a time of 11 minutes, 35 seconds on a 1.6-mile course. She was followed by Sydney Wells in 68th (7:41), Shaelyn Waltemire in 89th (12:41) and Isabella McCabe in 96th (12:46).

Kara Gibbon was Indiana’s top finisher in the eighth-grade girls’ race, finishing 54th out of 222 runners in 11:55. Clara Sherwood finished 56th (11:56), and Jennifer Brice finished 85th (12:35.)

On the boys’ side, Matt Berzonsky finished 47th out of 264 runners in the seventh-grade boys’ race in 10:49. Joey Bujdos finished 78th in 11:10, and Zach Fries finished 105th in 11:31.

In the eighth-grade boys’ race, Isaac Evan paced Indiana by finishing 52nd out of 273 runners in 10:30. Mark Wagner finished in 89th (10:56), and Rocco Fanella finished 127th in 11:23.

Indiana serves as the host for the WAADA Championship Meet on Wednesday at the White Township Recreation Complex.
