GREENSBURG — Indiana’s playoff hopes took a major hit Friday night when Greensburg Salem rallied from a two-touchdown deficit to hand the Indians a loss in a WPIAL Class AAA Greater Allegheny Conference football game at Offutt Field.

Indiana (2-4 overall and section) led 14-0 in the second quarter, on Marshall Dietz’s 51-yard run and a 2-yard dive by Sean Thompson.

But the host Lions rallied behind tailback Dominique McKinley, who finished with 228 yards on 26 carries. McKinley scored three touchdowns in the second half to help Greensburg Salem go from being down 14-7 at halftime to being ahead 28-14 with about eight minutes to play.

Indiana scored a late touchdown, on an 8-yard pass from Jacob Zilinskas to Riley Stapleton. Zilinskas relieved Thompson, who suffered a broken finger in the first half and could not throw the ball.

Stapleton finished with eight catches for 149 yards.
