Mark Critz will be the keynote speaker for the Indiana County Democratic Fall Banquet on Oct. 25 at the Indiana Holiday Inn.
Critz will be a candidate for lieutenant governor of Pennsylvania in 2014. He formerly served part of Indiana County as congressman for the 12th Congressional District and as district director for Congressman John Murtha. He is a graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Critz will speak to critical issues facing Pennsylvania.
At the banquet, the public will have the opportunity to hear Indiana County leaders seeking support in the Nov. 5 election. Sandra Kirkland has served as county treasurer for 23 years and has served as president of the Pennsylvania State Association of County Treasurers. Mary Jane Dellafiora has been jury commissioner for 23 years and has been a statewide advocate with the Pennsylvania State Association of Jury Commissioners. Jennifer Johnson Rega is seeking re-election for a third term as magisterial district judge for District 40-3-03 in the southern part of the county.
Those attending the banquet will have a chance to learn about Judge Jack McVay, a candidate for state Superior Court. McVay is a Pittsburgh trial judge who is highly recommended by the Allegheny Bar Association.
The fall ballot will also include the opportunity to confirm retention of Democratic judges Max Baer in the state Supreme Court, Jack Panella in state Superior Court and Carol Hanna in Indiana County Court of Common Pleas.

Ron Baker, of Brush Valley, national campaign coordinator for the AFL-CIO, will serve as master of ceremonies. The social hour begins at 5 p.m. with music by Grist for the Mill. An Italian buffet dinner will be served at 6 p.m. Tickets are $30.
