JUNIOR HIGH GIRLS' BASKETBALL: Homer-Center improves to 13-1

HOMER CITY — Homer-Center ran its record to 13-1 by defeating Penns Manor, 45-21, in a ninth-grade girls’ basketball game Tuesday at the Homer Dome.

Homer-Center’s Lexi Newhouse led all scorers with 18 points. Madison Valyo added 10 points.

Maddie Weaver scored nine points for Penns Manor.

Penns Manor won the seventh- and eighth-grade game, 19-17.

Homer-Center plays host to Saltsburg on Thursday. Penns Manor travels to United on Oct. 24.

• SALTSBURG — Megan Faught scored 20 points to power Purchase Line to a 42-33 win over Saltsburg.

Isabel Satler led the Trojans with 20 points.

Purchase Line won the seventh- and eighth-grade game, 19-10.

Abbie Ewing scored eight points to lead Purchase Line.

Purchase Line (5-10) plays host to United on Thursday.


MARION CENTER GIRLS SCORE WIN: Marion Center defeated Brookville, 34-8, in an eighth-grade girls’ basketball game Tuesday at Marion Center.

Tianna France scored a game-high 11 points for Marion Center. Paige Repine added seven points.

Marion Center (3-8) plays host to Ligonier Valley on Thursday.
