CLYMER — This past week each elementary class at Calvary Baptist Academy participated in a field trip. The first- through sixth-grade traveled on their field trip to Carnegie Science Center in Pittsburgh on Oct. 18.

In addition to being a break from classes, this trip was fun-filled and exciting. The day included a look at the history of bicycles, a section on how we interact with water in our world and a room of robotics. All these features were located in the science center.

Also, the students enjoyed the Sports Center, where there was rock climbing, different simulators, a monkey-bounce trampoline and many other amusements. The students returned home exhausted, but they definitely were glad they had gone on this field trip.

On Monday, the kindergarteners (K-4 and K-5) took a field trip to Clymer. This was a trip not only to tour the facilities, but to lend a helping hand where they could. The students visited Tate’s Supermarket, Mahoning Physical Therapy, Clymer Fire Department, Fox’s Pizza and the Clymer Post Office.

At Tate’s, the students were able to see what all goes into running a successful supermarket. At the fire station, they looked at all the amazing equipment.

At Fox’s Pizza, the students enjoyed making their own miniature pizzas with their own choice of toppings, and at the Mahoning Physical Therapy, they were able to learn what goes into making injured people better.

Their visit to the Clymer Post Office enabled the students to see the hard work that goes into ensuring that everyone gets their mail and packages.

After visiting these businesses the kindergartners were able to spend some time in the Clymer Park, which was probably their favorite part of the day. The day was enjoyed by all who participated in this fun-filled, learning field trip.
