False ID

IUP campus police said they have charged Nestor Nshimiyimana, 27, of Indiana, with providing a false identification to law enforcement, driving with a suspended license and other summary traffic offenses following an Oct. 11 traffic stop in the 800 block of Maple Street. Police said Nshimiyimana was pulled over after making a left turn in front of oncoming traffic. He then gave a false name and date of birth to officers, police said.


Public drunkenness

Jordan S. Babcock, 23, of Fairview, was cited for public drunkenness early Saturday morning after he was found lying along Grant Street, according to IUP campus police. Babcock was placed temporarily in Indiana County Jail, police said.

Nicole Marie Secary, 20, of Shippensburg, was cited for public drunkenness and underage drinking following an incident Friday night at a location along Grant Street, according to IUP campus police. Police said an officer found Secary engaged in a heated argument with a man.



A man entered the home of Brandy Silvis, 28, of 542 Spring St., on Tuesday and took undisclosed items, according to state police in Indiana.

Police said they have a suspect.



Mark Allen Hadden, 30, of Smicksburg, has been charged with burglary, receiving stolen property, theft and criminal trespass, according to state police in Punxsutawney. Police said Hadden broke into his mother’s home at 100 Hadden Lane on Oct. 18 and took jewelry, $7 in cash and various household items. Prior to that, Hadden took $200 while living at his mother’s home, police said.
