The Elderton/Plumcreek Recreation Commission recently held its annual community Halloween party at the old Elderton High School gym.

So that children remain safe this time of year, the community pulls together to have one big event instead of door-to-door trick-or-treating. Approximately 450 children of all ages enjoyed a fast-paced night filled with costume judging, an auction, a 50/50 drawing, door prizes, a stuffed animal walk and the much anticipated candy toss. Each child received a bag full of treats, compliments of local businesses and residents.

The recreation commission appreciated help from those who assisted in any way, especially Dan Palmo and Brian Visnosky who emceed the event and Doug Varner for donating his sound system for the evening.
