Indiana attorney Sarah Ross recently was awarded the 2013 Indiana County Court of Common Pleas Pro Bono Award.

Indiana County President Judge William Martin said Ross consistently demonstrates her commitment to serving the needs of those less fortunate and she was instrumental in the implementation of a pro bono program created by Martin that provides counsel for unrepresented individuals in protection from abuse cases.

Ross was also instrumental in acquiring a $10,000 grant from the Pennsylvania Interest on Lawyers Trust Account Board. The grant was awarded to the Alice Paul House, a nonprofit victim advocate agency, and will be used to provide personnel to assist with PFA petitions and hearings.

Ross also assists others in need through her work with Children and Youth Services and Aging Services.

Her dedication to the citizens of Indiana County and the Indiana County Court of Common Pleas is commendable, Martin said.
