Someone damaged a Volkswagen Jetta between 8:30 p.m. Tuesday and 3:30 p.m. Thursday in the University Square parking lot in the 1200 block of Oakland Avenue, according to Indiana Borough police.

Damage to vehicle
According to Indiana University of Pennsylvania police, a student reported that his vehicle was hit by another, which then fled the scene, around 9:45 p.m. Saturday at South 11th and Maple streets.
A witness said the suspect’s vehicle was a dark blue or black Ford SUV, possibly from North Carolina, police reported.

Courtney Shipton, 18; Taylor Cubbler, 19; Kristen Hricko, 18; and Katelyn Anderson, 18, all IUP students, were cited after an investigation into a noise violation revealed that they had been drinking around 12:15 a.m. Sunday at 1099 Maple St., IUP police reported.

Juan Navia, 20, of Doylestown, was charged with public drunkenness and underage drinking after being found screaming and yelling at 1:31 a.m. Nov. 10 outside the Northern Suites, according to IUP police.
He was placed in the Indiana County Jail, police said.
Tanner Reed Downing, 22, was placed in the Indiana County Jail after being found drunk and in his underwear around 4:15 a.m. Sunday in the HUB parking lot, according to IUP police.
Martis Black, 21, of Lansdowne, stole a bag of potato chips around 3 a.m. Sunday from the Sheetz store at 768 Wayne Ave., borough police reported. He fled from the store, but was found by police a short distance away. Black was cited for the theft and released, police said.

Cory Brennan, 21, of Cochranville, stole a bag of chips and a Hostess apple pie around 3 a.m. Nov. 15 from the Sheetz store at 768 Wayne Ave., according to borough police. He was arrested and cited, then released, police said.

Meredith Gilmore, 20, of Alexandria, Va., was cited for retail theft after shoplifting just before 2 a.m. Nov. 15 at the Sheetz store at 768 Wayne Ave., borough police said. She was also cited for underage drinking.
Brian Vello, 38, of Indiana, assaulted a woman around 12:15 a.m. Thursday at his residence in the 100 block of South Third Street, according to borough police.
In addition to simple assault, Vello was charged with disorderly conduct and harassment, and taken to the Indiana County Jail to await arraignment before District Judge Guy Haberl in Indiana, police said.
State police at Indiana report that Adam Duffy, 51, of Josephine, was found in possession of suspected heroin and drug paraphernalia at 1:30 p.m. Nov. 13 in the old Sheetz building.
Duffy was taken into custody and later released, police said.
YOUNG TOWNSHIP, JEFFERSON COUNTY
Charlene Lea Smilo, 43, of Punxsutawney, was charged with harassment after an incident that happened around 4:40 p.m. Nov. 8 at Walmart.
According to state police at Punxsutawney, Smilo followed John Anthony Pisano III, 28, and Ashley Nichole Jacques, 23, both of Rossiter, around the store making derogatory comments to them. She then waited in the store parking lot and confronted them again when they left the store, police said.
