MEETING: The Brush Valley Senior Citizens will meet at noon Wednesday at the Brush Valley Fire Hall for their Christmas meeting.

Buddy D will provide oldies music and some Christmas songs. Bring a $5 gift for a fun game to exchange the gifts. Don’t forget your food items or dessert and plate and utensils.

DINNER: Catholic Daughters, Ct. St. Bernard 339, Indiana, will hold its Christmas dinner at 6 p.m. Dec. 12 at the Rustic Lodge, White Township. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. Meal choices are chicken Romano and Swiss steak. The cost is $22. Reservations will be taken after Masses on Saturday and Sunday or by calling Mary K. at (724) 465-4342 or Linda at (724) 465-2147. Reservation deadline is Sunday.

LUNCHEON: The annual Christmas luncheon for AARP Chapter 2581 will be held at noon Dec. 17 at the Rustic Lodge, White Township. Reservations and the $18 price for the lunch must be made by Dec. 6. DROP ’N’ SHOP: Graystone Presbyterian Church, in Indiana, will hold its Drop ’n’ Shop from 1 to 4 p.m. Dec. 7 for infants to sixth-graders. The teaching team is based on the Jesse Tree. The afternoon includes teaching, crafts, games and icing cookies. This free quality child care is supervised by adults with clearances. FESTIVAL: Christmas in Avonmore is planned for Dec. 7. There will be a snowball race at 6 p.m., carol singing at the memorial at 7 p.m. and Santa will arrive on a horse-drawn wagon at 7:30 p.m. Everyone is invited to the Civic Center after for refreshments and children will have a chance to see Santa and receive a treat. Everyone is welcome to take a free, horse-drawn wagon ride around town. Activities will take place on Indiana and Westmoreland avenues in the borough.

MEETING: The Keystone Doll Collectors will meet at 1 p.m. Dec. 17 at Eat’n Park Restaurant, White Township. The program will be Christmas/angels. Members are asked to bring a new toy or a monetary donation for the Alice Paul House.

COOKIE SALE: The fourth annual holiday cookie sale will be held from 8 to 10:30 a.m. on Dec. 7 at the Blairsville United Presbyterian Church, 137 N. Walnut St., Blairsville.

The cost is $7 per pound. All proceeds go to the Pathway Homeless Shelter. For more information, call (724) 459-7991.

SALE: A soup, sandwich and craft sale will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 7 at the Purchase Line Church of the Brethren, 3711 Purchase Line Road, between Dixonville and Purchase Line.

There will be something for everyone. Hunters are welcome. Proceeds go to the National Youth Conference 2014 fund for the youth group.
