Indiana County 4-H members complete project books

The Indiana County 4-H Program Development Committee recently recognized 4-H members for excellence in project book completion. Leaders Kitty Eget and Lori Richardson evaluated more than 80 member books on neatness, completeness and the project story.

Winning members by club and project area are:

Market Livestock: Tanner Berringer, Treasure Seekers; and Aurora Buterbaugh, Zachery Edwards and Katherine Swauger, Northern Livestock.

Dairy: Sarah McConnell, Southern Dairy.

Clothing and Textiles: Abigail Bruner, Gordon; and Allison Goodlin, Green Clover.

Food and Nutrition: Savanna Michele, Treasure Seekers; Ashley Goodlin, Green Clover; and Terri Bugay, Marion Center Handy Helpers.

Conservation: Andrea Davis and William McConnell, Gordon.

Horticulture: Elizabeth Bruner and Alexis McConnell, Gordon.

Horse: Macheala Rankin, Kelsey Henry and Paige Henry, Trailblazers.

Leadership: Abigail Zyhowski, Marion Center Handy Helpers.

Small Animals: Chase Walker, Great Egg-spectations; and Teresa Shields, Gordon.

Engineering: Sam McGaughran, Marion Center Handy Helpers.

General Home Economics: Kelsey Kennedy and Samantha Bugay, Marion Center Handy Helpers; and Mary Ann Ostach, Gordon.

General: Sarah Jones, Marion Center Handy Helpers.

Project book awards were sponsored by AgChoice Farm Credit. A special dairy book award was sponsored by Windy View Dairy Farm, the Ackerson family.

Paige Henry, Indiana County 4-H horse project member, has been named a finalist in the PA Outstanding 4-H Equine Member Contest.

Five members from across the state were honored for their outstanding 4-H records in horse activities, leadership programs, and citizenship and community service.

Finalists received halters and leads donated by Tory Leather Company, of Williamsport, and grooming trays provided by C&M Pine Products.

Henry is a member of the Trailblazers 4-H Club. Active at county, regional, and state level, she was also honored as a member of Team Horse Power.
