WESTOVER — The last week before Thanksgiving break, Harmony High School held “Meet the Owls Night,” sponsored by the Sports Boosters.
The night started off with the Sports Boosters’ annual spaghetti dinner. Afterwards, parents could walk around and see displays of their children’s work in the hallways. The elementary student council held games in the hallways, and other clubs and organizations were there as well. The Spanish club held a bake sale to raise money for a field trip, and the cheerleaders also had a table. The night was finished with the introduction of the elementary boys and girls basketball teams, the pep band, the junior varsity boys’ and girls’ basketball teams and the varsity basketball teams in the gymnasium.
This week at the school board, the middle school/ high school chorus performed two of their three songs as a preview for the Christmas concert. The concert will be held on Wednesday and will include performances from the elementary band and chorus and the middle school/high school band and chorus.
Parent volunteers helped elementary students choose Christmas gifts for their family this week during Santa’s workshop. Students could choose from a variety of gifts and had the chance to get them wrapped.
“It’s a good time to get your family a Christmas gift when they aren’t looking,” said TJ Elli, a third-grader.
Students enjoyed being a part of all of the Christmas cheer.
