An Indiana University of Pennsylvania student has organized the first “Cards for Kids” project at IUP for children in hospitals during the holidays.
Kerry Rice, a nutrition major from Cooperstown, worked through the Office of Service Learning to do the project. She collected more than 1,000 holiday cards that have been signed by students and businesses in Indiana. The cards will be sent to children’s hospitals across the state and to Indiana Regional Medical Center for distribution.
Rice is a 2009 graduate of Southern Lehigh High School. She also participated in the university’s 24-hour dance marathon to raise funds for charity.
