Advent organ series wraps up Thursday

GLEN CAMPBELL — The First Baptist Church of Glen Campbell will complete its 2013 Advent organ concert series with lunch at 12:10 p.m. Thursday.

Serving as organist playing the church’s pipe organ will be Christine Clewell, Indiana University of Pennsylvania music department organ master.

Serving as vocal soloist will be Franklin Mosley, an IUP voice major and at times a member of the church’s choir.

Dr. Clewell has selected works from J.S. Bach, George Frideric Handel and French composer Alexander Guilmant.

The theme of the short worship service and liturgy is “Watchfulness, Patience and Joy.”

The opening congregational hymn will be “Savior of the Nations Come” and the closing hymn will be “Veiled in Darkness Judah Lay.”

Serving as clergy leader for the worship will be the Rev. Dr. Allan N. Campbell with lay worship leader Dr. Joseph C. Clark.

Following the concert and short service, all are invited to gather in fellowship hall for homemade hot soup, bread and butter, drinks and homemade dessert. A free will offering will be taken.
