The Tri-County Workforce Investment Board Inc. recently presented an Employer of the Year Award to Clark Metal Products in Blairsville.
Clark Metal is an advanced manufacturing company and a leader in metal fabrication. The company offers comprehensive services including design and prototyping assistance, cost reduction solutions, custom fabrication, machining, finishing and screen printing, and inventory management solutions.
Clark Metal employs 118 people.
The manufacturer worked to promote National Manufacturing Day in 2012 and 2013 by hosting students, teachers and community members. The company works with the technical centers in Indiana and Westmoreland counties for co-op experiences and offers plant tours to youths.
Training and professional development is part of the culture at Clark, which has an extensive orientation and training program as well as continual cross-training to ensure employee knowledge of procedures. To earn the award, employers must have significantly contributed to the workforce development system within the region. The award highlights the collaboration of business and workforce investment in Armstrong, Indiana and Butler counties.
