State police, Indiana

State police at the Indiana County station in White Township responded to 1,000 incidents in December, station officials reported.

In the criminal investigations division, troopers took 174 reports of offenses, ruled that seven were unfounded, cleared 119 offenses and arrested 143 suspects.

Police patrolling the highways investigated 125 traffic accidents that resulted in injuries to 22 people and three fatalities. Investigators attributed seven accidents to alcohol use.

Troopers issued 427 traffic citations and gave 250 warnings, including 24 citations for seat belt violations. Police arrested 20 motorists for suspicion of driving under the influence, investigated 14 cases of hit-and-run assisted 49 motorists and inspected 178 commercial vehicles.

State police, Kiski Valley

State police at Kiski Valley in Apollo responded to 799 incidents in December according to the monthly statistical report.

Criminal investigators at the station said 52 criminal offenses were reported, 32 criminal arrests were made and 35 criminal offenses were cleared.

Troopers responded to 39 car accidents. Twenty injuries were reported.

Two accidents were hit and run and five were DUI-related. Fourteen DUI arrests were made.

Troopers issued 386 traffic citations, 177 warnings, seven seat belt citations and one child safety seat citation.

According to the report, 50 motorists were assisted by troopers at Kiski Valley.
