CLARKS SUMMIT (AP) — Police are investigating a woman’s report that she was abducted by a man who pretended to be a police officer in northwestern Pennsylvania.
South Abington Township police said the 40-year-old woman escaped early Saturday by jumping out of the window of the fake cop’s vehicle.
The incident happened about 2:30 a.m. when the man flashed his headlights at the woman’s car, prompting her to pull over. The man told the woman she was under arrest, and forced her into the back seat of his car.
Police said the woman jumped out of the moving car and was found by a PennDOT worker who drove her to the township police station.
The woman was unable to describe her attacker, but said he was driving a newer red sedan.
