SALTSBURG —Saltsburg Middle-High School held a blood drive Thursday and recently held a shoe drive.
Student council sponsors blood drives under the direction of adviser Melissa Milanak. Saltsburg participates in the High School Scholarship program that the Central Blood Bank offers. Students can impact hundreds of lives locally. Donating blood to the Central Blood Bank will allow students to become eligible to earn scholarships.

Through their participation, students get a positive life lesson. The key is to have at least 50 participants to become eligible for the scholarship opportunity. Central Blood Bank representatives will provide blood donation education with an assembly, which in turn will add to the success of the blood drive. The next blood drive will be held on May 15 at Saltsburg Middle High School.
