SALTSBURG — The Sweater Hop Court was selected and a college fair field trip planned here as students at Saltsburg Middle/ High School round out the beginning of 2014.
At Saltsburg Middle/High School this week the upperclassmen elected the Sweater Hop Court.
The court consists of five senior girls and five senior boys. The seniors are escorted by a Freshmen Court, which is chosen by the freshmen class.
On March 1, a king and queen will be crowned and honored at a dance in the high school gymnasium.
The senior members of the court are Kylie Beatty, Brook Cass, Olivia Humph-rey, Melissa Pascoe, Jayde Resnick, Tyler Bendis, Dominic Feiling, Luke Mowery, Steven Richards and Tony Salandra.
The freshman escorts are Cheyenne Anderson, Sara Anderson, Carly Hall, Abbie Okopal, Autumn Vincent, Jordan Booth, Mitchell Carr, Frankie Plowman, Nick Porter and Daniel Shirley. The crown bearers are Anthony Lassick and Courtney Porter. The ushers are Brad Schaffer and Natalie Albitz.
The Sweater Hop is sponsored by the freshman class and adviser Cheri Matarrese.
On Thursday, any junior who wishes can attend a college fair in Pittsburgh with chaperones Jennifer Watson and Stephanie Jake.
Students attending the Pittsburgh National College Fair at the David L. Law-rence Convention Center will have an opportunity to interact with admission representatives from a wide range of postsecondary institutions.
Students will be able to meet one-on-one with representatives from colleges and universities to discuss admission and financial aid opportunities at their respective institutions.
The college fair is sponsored by the National Association for College Admission Counseling and is free and open to the public.
