Abby Zyhowski, Indiana County 4-H member, was recently named a winner of a 2014 Pennsylvania Farm Show Foundation Educational Scholarship.

Zyhowski is a member of the Marion Center Handy Helpers 4-H Club and is the daughter of Gerry Koller, of Indiana.

She is currently attending Saint Francis University. Twenty-five 4-H and FFA members from across the state were named winners based on their overall youth program record and their involvement with the farm show.

Zyhowski has been a consistent entrant to the Farm Show, winning two coveted Best of Show awards in Family Living in 2010 and 2013. She has won 64 ribbons with her entries, with many first- and second-place awards. Her 4-H and open entries have included foods, hobbies, clothing and crafts.

She also has entered the specialty baking contests at the show including the Hershey Brownie and Bar and pineapple upside-down cake events. Her other efforts at the show include the Quilt Block contest and assisting with the apple pie contest.

As a 4-H member, Zyhowski has served as a teen leader, day camp counselor and regional 4-H camp counselor. She has attended State 4-H Achievement Days and State Teen Conference. She recently was chosen to attend the 2013 National 4-H Congress as an outstanding county 4-H member.
