MEETING: The Indiana Herb Study Group will hold its first meeting at 7 p.m. Feb. 25 at the Red Cross building on Kolter Avenue, White Township. The speaker will be member Cindy Rodgers, who will talk about the herb of the year, Artemisia dracunculus, or French tarragon.
SOCIAL: The Clymer United Methodist Women’s group will hold a soup and sandwich social from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Church Social Hall. Homemade soups, sandwiches, desserts and drinks will be available to eat in or take out.
The church is located at the corner of Fifth and Hancock streets, Clymer.
DINNER: A benefit dinner for a cancer patient will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the Chevy Chase Community Center, 640 N. Fifth Ave., White Township.
All proceeds from the spaghetti dinner will help the Raymond Barrineau family from Rochester Mills with health care expenses due to ongoing treatments for cancer. The $8 dinner will include salad, roll, drink and dessert. Takeouts will be available. Donations are being accepted. The benefit is being co-sponsored by clients from the S&T Wellness Center and the Punxsutawney Region AACA.
BINGO: The Elderton Volunteer Fire Department sponsors bingo every Thursday. Early bird starts at 6:45 p.m. with the regular game at 7 p.m.
