• The Mu Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa, an international sorority for women educators, is offering a $750 scholarship award to a girl who will graduate from the Indiana Area, Homer-Center, Blairsville-Saltsburg or Purchase Line school districts.
The recipient must be accepted by Indiana University of Pennsylvania for the 2014-15 school year as well as major in a field of education. Applicants will be considered on the basis of scholastic achievement as well as school and community involvement.
Interested students should see their guidance counselor for more details and the necessary application form.

• The Armstrong-Indiana-Clarion Drug and Alcohol Commission has announced that applications are being accepted for the 2014 Bernie Smith Memorial Scholarship.
Armstrong, Indiana and Clarion County students in the 2014 graduating class must exemplify the mission of the Armstrong-Indiana-Clarion Drug and Alcohol Commission through their involvement, leadership and accomplishments during their high school careers.
This scholarship provides one high school senior in each county with a single award of $1,000 toward post-secondary education. All submissions must be postmarked by March 13 for consideration.

• A scholarship is available through the Janessa Fleming Memorial Fund.
This fund was established through the Central Pennsylvania Community Foundation and will award scholarships as well as grants to 501(c)3 charities that best reflect the beautiful person Janessa was.
The scholarship’s criteria includes any deaf or hard-of-hearing student wishing to continue a post-secondary education or for anyone, hearing or deaf, who is seeking a career in deaf education, deaf research or as a sign language interpreter.
