Scholarship details announced

• The Indiana Garden Club, a member of the Garden Club Federation of Pennsylvania, District VI, annually awards a minimum of one $500 scholarship from the Julia Pound/Alice O’Dell scholarship fund to students entering college or graduate school with a major of ecology, horticulture, landscape design, landscape architecture, conservation, botany, forestry, agriculture or earth sciences.

The student must be a resident of Indiana County.

A scholarship application must be completed and include an official transcript and a letter of recommendation.

• The Mu Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa, an international sorority for women educators, is offering a $750 scholarship award to a girl who will graduate from Indiana Area, Homer-Center, Blairsville, Saltsburg or Purchase Line high schools.

The recipient must be accepted by Indiana University of Pennsylvania for the 2014-15 school year as well as major in a field of education.

Applicants will be considered on the basis of scholastic achievement as well as school and community involvement.
