Seniors for Safe Driving, which holds highway safety education programs for seniors 55 years of age and older, will hold several classes in the area in April and May.
Upcoming classes are set for April 2, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Kittanning Senior Center; April 9, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Concordia Haven II, Cabot; April 17, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Armstrong Hospital, Kittanning; April 28 and 29, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at St. Andrew’s Village, White Township; May 15, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., at Clarion Senior Center, Clarion; May 22, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Armstrong Memorial Hospital, Kittanning; and May 26, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at St. Andrew’s Village, White Township.

The programs are certified by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.
Successful completion of the program makes senior drivers eligible for a 5 percent discount on automobile insurance premiums across the board for a period of three years. Receiving this discount is mandated by state law.
If you have never participated in a senior driving program before, you must attend a two-day class.
To qualify for a one-day program, you must have attended a senior driving program in the past.
