Route 403 will close between Route 711 and Grange Hall Road on Monday at 7 a.m., according to a release from PennDOT. A posted detour will direct travelers to Route 56, to Route 22 and back to Route 403.
Work will include replacing the concrete slab bridge carrying Route 403 over a tributary of the Conemaugh River in East Wheatfield Township.
This structurally deficient bridge, built in 1930, will be replaced with a box culvert, and is expected to open to traffic before the end of May. Deyarmin Road, a township road, will also be closed during the project.
This $816,516 bridge replacement project is being done by J.C. Lee Construction and Supply Company.
