Party hosts cited
Indiana Borough police issued two citations in a little over an hour’s time on March 8 to a Washington County man, accusing him of hosting an ongoing loud party at 589 S. Seventh St.
Joseph Vilsack, 20, of McMurray, was cited with disorderly gatherings on private property and underage drinking at 5:33 p.m., and was cited again with the disorderly gatherings violation at 6:35 p.m., when police say they found people yelling inside the house and others fleeing the area.
Approximately 50 to 60 people exited the house after Vilsack shut down the party, police reported.
Vilsack pleaded not guilty to the charges, all summary offenses, and is scheduled to appear for a summary trial April 24 in Indiana District Court.

Alex Miller, 22, of Somerset, Somerset County; Malena Hughes, 21, of Coraopolis, Allegheny County; and Christopher Muffi, 21, of Imperial, Allegheny County, were cited by borough police with disorderly gathering on private property at 4:15 p.m. March 8 at various locations in the 200 block of South Seventh Street.

Borough police charged Christine Clarke, 21, of Glenmoore, Chester County, with hosting a disorderly gathering at 4:27 p.m. March 8 at 277 S. Seventh St. A hearing is scheduled for April 28.
Police at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania campus charged Robert Donze, 19, of West Chester, with possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of prohibited offensive weapons at 10:18 p.m. March 10 in the Suites on Maple East dormitory. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 24.
Heather Bailey, 22, of Herminie, Westmoreland County, was cited with retail theft at 1:43 a.m. March 9 when borough police said she carried a bag of chips from Sheetz, 768 Wayne Ave.

Anthony Morgante, 19, of Mountain Top, Luzerne County, was cited with underage drinking and retail theft at 6:31 p.m. March 8 at Giant Eagle Express, 435 S. Seventh St., borough police reported.
IUP campus police reported someone spray-painted graffiti in a Dumpster in the parking lot at the Pratt Suites East dormitory at 1:49 a.m. March 17.
State police charged Jihad Dandridge, 19, Cameron Green, 18, and Byron Phillips, 21, all of Wyncote, Montgomery County, with possession of a small amount of marijuana at 11:49 a.m. March 8 at Comfort Inn, along Indian Springs Road.
Preliminary hearings are scheduled for May 12 in Homer City District Court.
State police charged Robert Packer, 34, of Clymer, with a third-degree felony count of tampering with public records, accusing him of altering the paperwork sent to him from Homer City District Court on Dec. 13 in connection with an earlier arrest for driving under the influence, to give the appearance of a receipt for payment of fines in the case.
A preliminary hearing is set for 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Homer City court.
Someone stole a Remington model 1911 A1 .45-caliber pistol and a .38-caliber snub nose revolver and some morphine pills between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. Wednesday from the residence of Leo and Patricia Buterbaugh, 49 Peach St., Commodore, state police at Indiana reported.

State police reported two intruders broke into a building Sunday at Iron Horse Salvage, 436 Quince Road, near Dixonville, then tried to steal copper wire and other items and fled into a wooded area when the business owner arrived in response to a burglar alarm.
Troopers gave no descriptions of the suspects.
Two gold wedding rings and a 9 mm Smith & Wesson handgun were stolen between Feb. 15 and March 15 from the residence of John Trinkley, 442 First St., state police at Indiana reported.
WEST WHEATFIELD TOWNSHIP
Janet Fenchak, of 1937 Mulligan Hill Road, reported to state police that a Taurus 9 mm handgun and unspecified medication were stolen from her residence between 9:30 a.m. March 14 and 11:50 a.m. March 17.
DERRY TOWNSHIP, WESTMORELAND COUNTY
State police reported someone damaged a door at Rose Cunningham’s residence, 312 Hickory Ave., in an attempt to gain entry between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Somebody threw eggs at a vehicle owned by Ryan Beatrice, of Latrobe, between 9 p.m. March 17 and 5:45 a.m. March 18 while it was parked at 2136 Walnut Drive, state police at Greensburg reported.
Megan Winegard reported to state police that someone broke into her residence along Ridge Avenue and stole a television between 2:30 and 11:30 p.m. Monday.
State police charged Daniel McAnany, 34, of Harrison Avenue, Derry, with possession of drug paraphernalia and disorderly conduct at 4:18 a.m. March 20 at his residence, where police had responded to a report of a drug overdose.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 14 in Bradenville District Court.
YOUNG TOWNSHIP, JEFFERSON COUNTY
State police reported a business check for a company in Shelocta was written on an account with insufficient funds for a payment of $623.41 to H&H Supply, 990 N. Main St., near Punxsutawney, on Feb. 21.
Charges are pending in the case.
