Ryan Ferguson went 3-for-3, and Tanner Yard and Mike Percic each had two RBIs to lift Young Township to a 10-2 win over Marion Center in an Indiana County Senior Legion game Saturday in West Lebanon.

“Really, it was a couple hits that gave us the runs that we needed to win the game,” Young Township coach Barry Thomas said. “Mike Percic had a two-RBI single that got us going early, and we kind of took it from there.”

Young Township finished with 11 hits. Austin Laird earned the win, striking out 10 in six innings.

Matt Hicks had two of Marion Center’s three hits.

The two teams are scheduled to face off again today, this time at Marion Center.

INDIANA LEGION 15, HOMER CITY LEGION 5: Indiana Legion racked up 16 hits en route to a win over Homer City that was shortened to five innings due to the mercy rule.

Homer Woody went 3-for-3 with two doubles and four RBIs for Indiana Legion. Five other players added two hits apiece. Bobby Bell pitched just two innings, but picked up the win.

Homer City’s Stephen Novak took the loss in a complete-game effort.

Both teams play Thursday. Indiana Legion travels to Punxsutawney, and Homer City Legion welcomes Young Township.
