Student earns degree at Carlow University

Miranda Pollock

Miranda Joy Pollock, a 2010 graduate of Marion Center Area High School, graduated with honors in May from Carlow University, Pittsburgh. She earned a B.S. in biology with a minor in chemistry. Her concentration is as an autopsy specialist.

In addition to being a Rose Marie Beard Women of Spirit Honors Scholar, she was named the 2014 Outstanding Peer Tutor by the Center for Academic Achievement.

As an undergraduate, she served as secretary, vice president and president of Beta Beta Beta Biological Honor Society. She also completed internships with the Center for Organ Recovery and Education and the Special Pathogens Laboratory. She studied abroad during 2012 at the University of Adelaide, Australia.

Miranda’s plans include working and traveling before pursuing a master’s degree in the field of public health.

She is the daughter of Mark and Lori Pollock, of Marion Center.
