BLAIRSVILLE 63, NORTHERN CAMBRIA 11: Chelsey Koren’s triple-double highlighted Blairsville’s Heritage Conference victory at Northern Cambria.

Blairsville’s 5-foot-11 junior forward poured in a game-high 20 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and made 10 steals. She dished out six assists for good measure.

“She scored on a lot on driving layups and offensive rebounds,” Blairsville coach Ralph McGinnis said.

Koren had six offensive rebounds and scored on four putbacks. She scored 12 points in the first quarter, and the Bobcats outscored Northern Cambria 30-2.

Nicole Boyer made three 3-pointers and scored 17 points, and Laurel O’Barto added 10 points and five assists for the Bobcats.

Allison Sedlock led the Colts with five points.

Both teams play at home on Friday. Blairsville (4-1, 3-0 conference) plays host to Purchase Line, and Northern Cambria (2-3) welcomes Marion Center.


SALTSBURG 46, HOMER-CENTER 38: Saltsburg outscored Homer-Center 30-18 in the second half to overcome a halftime deficit and win a Heritage Conference game in Homer City.

Abbie Okopal led the Trojans with 19 points. She made two 3-pointers and 5 of 8 foul shots.

Saltsburg trailed 20-16 at halftime.

“Towards the end of the third quarter they went on a run,” Homer-Center coach Tom Lasher said. “We got down and couldn’t catch up to them.”

Julia Buggey paced the Wildcats with 13 points, and Sydney Horel posted a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Saltsburg (3-4) is off until Friday, Dec. 27, when it faces Leechburg in the Apollo-Ridge holiday tournament. Homer-Center (2-3, 1-2 conference) visits United on Friday.
