WAGNER 56, ST. FRANCIS 50: Marcus Burton scored 14 points, including a 3-pointer that helped fuel a second half go-ahead run, to lift Wagner past the Red Flash in Loretto.

Trailing by as many as 13 points in the first half, Wagner (9-9, 3-1 Northeast Conference) took its first lead of the game on Kenneth Ortiz’s layup that made it 32-31 early in the second half and then padded it with Burton’s 3-pointer during an 8-0 spurt, making it 42-34 with 10 minutes to play.

Both teams struggled offensively, but Wagner made twice as many trips to the foul line, hitting 14 of 18, and held a 43-34 rebounding advantage.

St. Francis (3-14, 1-3) was led by Earl Brown, who scored half of the team’s total points.
