A manhunt for the suspect in a shooting early Thursday in White Township has ended with the accused gunman’s surrender, state police reported Friday evening.

Eagan Minich, of Old Route 56, turned himself in to state police at the Indiana area station just after 4 p.m. Friday troopers reported in a news release.

Minich, who is charged with attempted homicide and two counts of aggravated assault, was lodged at Indiana County Jail to await court action on the charges.

Police charged that Minich, 29, assaulted Hayden Warmke, an Indiana University of Pennsylvania student, just after 2 a.m. Tuesday in a parking lot at a housing complex at 565 Maple St., in White Township. Minich repeatedly punched Warmke then shot his leg with a handgun and fled the area, according to investigators.

Warmke was in fair condition Friday morning at Memorial Medical Center in Johnstown.
