BLAIRSVILLE 67, SALTSBURG 34: The Bobcats’ Chelsey Koren posted a double-double, Laurel O’Barto scored 20 points, and first-place Blairsville reeled off its 18th straight win by routing visiting Saltsburg in a Heritage Conference game.
Koren tallied game-highs in points and rebounds with 26 and 13, respectively. O’Barto dished out a game-best eight assists, and Mikala Misleany scored 10 points.
Ashton Battistelli scored a season-high 14 points to lead Saltsburg.
Both teams play today. Blairsville (19-1, 14-0) plays host to Ligonier Valley, and Saltsburg (7-10, 5-6) welcomes Penns Manor.
CENTRAL CAMBRIA 48, HOMER-CENTER 42: Central Cambria jumped out to a six-point halftime lead and made 14 of 17 free throws to outlast Homer-Center in a non-conference game at the HomerDome.
Alexis Leysock posted a double-double to lead Homer-Center. Leysock piled up 12 points and 11 rebounds, Julia Buggey had 10 points, and Sydney Horel grabbed nine rebounds.
The Wildcats matched Central Cambria’s 16 field goals and finished 10-for-16 shooting at the free throw line.
Homer-Center (8-12) travels to Northern Cambria today.
JEANNETTE 43, LIGONIER VALLEY 41: Jeannette poured in 20 fourth-quarter points and erased a nine-point deficit to nip host Ligonier Valley in a non-conference game.
The Rams limited the Jayhawks to just three points in the third quarter and carried a nine-point lead, 32-23, into the fourth. Jeannette outscored Ligonier Valley, 20-9, in the fourth quarter to pull away for the win.
Ligonier Valley (10-9, 8-4) travels to Blairsville this evening.
UNITED 51, NORTHERN CAMBRIA 16: Three United players reached double figures in scoring and the Lions amassed 21 field goals to Northern Cambria’s seven en route to a win in a Heritage Conference game in Armagh.
United’s Taylor Mack led all scorers with 15 points. Kylee Surike added 13 points, Eden Bloom tacked on 10 points, eight rebounds, five steals and four assists, and Hope Hixson had five assists.
Alyssa Walters scored five points to lead Northern Cambria.
Both teams play at home today. United (13-6) plays host to Marion Center and Northern Cambria (4-14, 1-12) welcomes Homer-Center.
APOLLO-RIDGE 50, PENNS MANOR 34: Apollo-Ridge’s Julia DeMeno scored a career-high 27 points and the playoff-bound Vikings smothered Penns Manor to cruise to a win in a non-conference game in Kenwood.
Ashley Emminger chipped in 13 points for the Vikings. Sarah DaBella paced Penns Manor with 16 points.
Apollo-Ridge, which concluded its regular season with a 14-7 overall record and a 4-6 section mark, will play in the WPIAL Class AA playoffs.
Penns Manor (5-11) travels to Saltsburg today.
