NORTHERN CAMBRIA — Northern Cambria swept Blacklick Valley in a non-conference track and field meet Monday.
The Northern Cambria boys’ team won, 117-32, and the girls’ team won, 123-26.
Seth Bearer won the 400, the 200 and the high jump to lead the Northern Cambria boys. Bearer also anchored the winning 1,600 relay team, which included Dartagnan Suchar, Nolan Paronish and Reis Hill.
Other first-place finishers were Suchar (100), C.J. Weirwoira (1,600), Robbie Gobrecht (800), Chris Woodley (3,200), Gus Yahner (pole vault), Paronish (javelin), Chris Barrett (shot put), Bryan Nealen (discus) and Desmond Phillips (triple jump). Also, Weirwoira, Woodley, Hill and Gobrecht made up the winning 3,200 relay team, and Robert Chappell, Suchar, Yahner and Paronish made up the winning 400 relay team.
On the girls’ side, Ally Kopera, Taylor Weiland and Emily Pavelko each won two events for the Colts. Kopera won the 1,600 and the 3,200, Weiland took the 800 and the pole vault, and Pavelko placed first in the long jump and the triple jump.
Shannon Mazurak won the 400 and ran on the winning 3,200 relay team and the winning 1,600 relay team. The 3,200 relay team included Weiland, Taylor Strong and Adriana Frontino, and the 1,600 relay team included Lakin Lapso, Alyssa Birchall and Jessica Barrett.
Renee Paronish won the javelin, Mikaela Gobrecht took the discus, Alanah Pavlik won the shot put, and Brooke Bernard finished first in the 200.
