Blais Veterinary Hospital in White Township has earned recognition for its longtime association with the American Animal Hospital Association.

The local veterinarian office has voluntarily submitted itself to the AAHA’s Standards of Accreditation for 25 consecutive years.

AAHA is the only organization in the United States and Canada that accredits companion animal hospitals based on standards that are above and beyond state regulations. Accredited hospitals are the only ones that choose to be evaluated on about 900 quality standards, including patient care, pain management and staff training.

Only the top small animal hospitals in the country have achieved accreditation by the association.

The office is run by Dr. Douglas R. Blais and his staff, including Karen Blais, administrator.
