CHARLEROI (AP) — A southwestern Pennsylvania woman has been jailed on charges she sold $75 worth of heroin to a police informant — with her three grandchildren in tow.
The public defender for Brenda Pelzer, 52, of Charleroi, declined comment Friday on the drug charges Pelzer faces from the alleged undercover transaction.
The (Washington) Observer-Reporter said the woman texted the informant to tell him she’d be bringing her grandchildren to the deal at about 8 p.m. Tuesday. Charleroi Regional police say Pelzer sold the informant eight individual dose bags of heroin, and was found with two more in her pants pocket.
Pelzer remained in the Washington County Jail on Friday, unable to post $100,000 bond. She’s facing a preliminary hearing May 12 on charges including drug delivery and criminal use of a cellphone.
