Track and Field: Purchase Line sweeps
PURCHASE LINE SWEEPS: Purchase Line swept visiting Marion Center in a Heritage Conference meet. The boys’ team won 96-36, and the girls’ team won, 83-56.
Josh Huey paced the Purchase Line boys (3-2) by winning the 100 and the 200. Huey also ran on the winning 1,600 relay team with Cameron Troupe, Dan Learn and Adam Farmery.
Other first-place finishers for Purchase Line were Alec Sunderlin (110 hurdles, 300 hurdles), Troupe (400), Josh Pierce (high jump), Joe Price (shot put, discus) and Royce Bish (javelin). The 3,200 relay team of Troupe, Farmery, Taylor Antisdel and Learn also placed first.
Marion Center’s winners were Kyle Anderson (1,600, 3,200), John Baker (long jump, triple jump) and Kyle Hicks (800).
Courtney Boyer won the discus and the javelin to lead the Purchase Line girls (2-3). Jaycelyn Fleming won the high jump and ran on the winning 3,200 relay team with Melanie Hilliard, Anna Harkleroad and Ashley Goodlin. Also, Carry Keith won the 100 hurdles and the triple jump, and Morgan Scalese took the shot put.
Purchase Line’s Allison Goodlin, Aubrey Mills, Megan Hudson and Keith teamed up to twin the 400 relay.
Julia Snickles (300 hurdles, long jump), Camber Heinle (400, 800), Cheyanne Behune (100, 200) and Taylor Wood-row (1,600, 3,200) each won a pair of events to lead the Marion Center girls.
The 1,600 relay team, which consisted of Danniele Fulmer, Tessa Bailey, Behune and Heinle, also placed first.
Purchase Line and Marion Center compete in the Indiana County Meet on Saturday at Marion Center.
