The Plumcreek Country Stitchers Quilt Guild will hold its first quilt show on Oct. 12 at the Home Farm Barn on Stutzman Road, in White Township. The public is welcome.

The guild will display a variety of quilts and present quilting demonstrations. A merchant mall will be open and books and magazines will be for sale.

Hours are 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is $3.

The quilt guild meets the fourth Tuesday of the month, January through October, at the Shelocta Church of the Brethern, east of Shelocta off Route 422 (take the exit for Wheel-In Campground). All quilters, beginners through advanced, are welcome. Refreshments are served at 5 p.m. and the meeting starts at 6 p.m.

Each meeting includes the creation of a block for community service quilts, quilting demonstrations, sharing of fat quarters, a quilt book library and fellowship.

Officers are Mimi Greene, president; Kathy Smith, vice president, Karen Kostishack, secretary; and Marie Day, treasurer.
