Gettysburg park plan advances
GETTYSBURG (AP) — A plan to expand Gettysburg National Military Park is moving forward.
Pennsylvania Sens. Bob Casey and Pat Toomey said Friday that their legislation has been approved by the Senate’s Energy and Natural Resources Committee.
The proposal would incorporate the Lincoln Train Station in downtown Gettysburg as part of a 45-acre expansion at the southern end of the battlefield.
The bill now awaits consideration by the entire Senate.
