Helicopter lands in NYC's Hudson River; all safe
NEW YORK (AP) — New York authorities say a helicopter has gone down in the Hudson River off Manhattan, but all five occupants are accounted for.
The New York Police Department says the pilot and four passengers have been rescued and taken to shore.
The incident happened shortly before noon Sunday in the section of the river near 79th Street. The circumstances were unclear.
In January, a small plane crashed and sank into the icy Hudson River off Yonkers. Two people were rescued.
In 2009, a US Airways flight landed safely on the Hudson after striking a flock of geese. All 155 people aboard survived.
