APOLLO-RIDGE: Red Ribbon Week celebrated
SPRING CHURCH -- This week, Apollo-Ridge Elementary is celebrating being drug free.
This week is Red Ribbon Week, when we celebrate saying no to drugs. If you participate in the daily theme, your name gets entered into a drawing where you can win prizes.
Monday was "Wear red day." Tuesday was "Sock it to drugs" day. Everyone is to wear crazy or mismatched socks. On Wednesday, All students and staff became a "Jeanious" and wore blue jeans. Thursday was sweatpants or sweatshirts. Finally, Friday was wear black and orange to celebrate the Halloween season.
Rebecca Snyder, our music teacher, did a wonderful job decorating our school. There are red ribbons and balloons everywhere. There are posters in our lobby and signs outside. Thank you, Mrs. Snyder, for all of your hard work.
Friday afternoon, we switched into our Halloween costumes for our Fall Festival Party. The PTA members created and organized this party. There were snacks, games and crafts to keep us occupied.
Red Ribbon Week is fun and it gives us a great message to be drug free. Thank you to all who created Red Ribbon Week. The students at A-R enjoyed it and appreciate your hard work.
